When speaking with others who received support during their unplanned pregnancies there is one commonality. That is if they received loving support it made an impact on their lives that lasted forever. Loving support can be shown in many ways from kind words to gifts.  They are all notable to someone who is in need. In follow up calls, many women state the most significant support was the caring nature of the staff they encounter even when they also received supplies or medical care.

When a mother facing an unplanned pregnancy calls into the Options United helpline she is met with the genorisity of someone that sees her as someone valuable as well as her child. She’s led to resources that will ease her mind throughout her pregnancy. Through follow up calls she feels the genuine concern others have for her. These actions leave lasting loving impressions on women during such an incredibly vulnerable time.

The genuine care and love she receives from others in transferred to her child. Her eyes are opened to the incredible blessing that she’s been given. It is an impact that not only lasts but carries over.

Lastly, and unexpectedly, the giving to others is something that impacts the giver forever. Acts 20:35 states, “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’.” The joy we are filled with by giving is indescribable and the blessings that follow are remarkable. I can confidently say I have never regretted giving to someone in need when I did so with no expectation from who was receiving. Each time it has only resulted in joy which is the biggest blessing in which I am always grateful.

Looking for ways to leave a lasting impression while assisting pro-life efforts? 

1. Put together a gift basket for a pregnant mother, whether it’s her first baby or fifth. Every child deserves to be celebrated.
2. Look up your local pregnancy center, give them a call and ask what their biggest need is at this time. It may be supplies, it may be volunteering, or something else that you have skill in where you can assist.

4. When you see a pregnant mother or any mother, treat her with kindness. It can be as simple as smiling and telling her she’s doing great.
